Board of Directors

Jim Bowker serves as President on the VTC Board of Directors.  Jim had been interested in getting involved in some capacity with the Vigilante Theatre Company (VTC) for a number of years.  This probably evolved from his experience of Gilbert and Sullivan performances at an early age. Fast forward to mid-90’s: Jim and his wife Cindy had been Bozeman residents for several years before stumbling upon the VTC and a performance of WUF!  That’s all it took - he’s been a fan ever since. Perhaps the primarily reason was to work with this group of talented, home-grown actors and their supporters (Board members, Friends, and fans) who have a strong conviction to provide the fabulous VTC brand of humor to communities throughout Montana.

LaVonne Jurack, Vice President of the Board of Directors, has lived in Bozeman MT for the last 10 years and received her degree in English Literature from Montana State University. She currently has worked for Gibson Acoustic Guitar Division, as a Product Specialist, for the last 9 years. Her passion for the work of the VTC comes from having been raised in rural Central Montana where she did not have regular access to art and cultural events. She strongly recognizes the importance and impact of performance art in rural communities. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Josh and Mom, Bette. Reading and walking her dogs.

Charles Broughton, Community Member at Large, moved to Bozeman in 1989 after his retirement from the United States Marine Corps after serving for 37 years.  Lt. Colonel Broughton earned 28 medals, ribbons, and commendations upon his retirement.  Passionate about coaching, Chuck’s wife Sally has suffered through 58 seasons of various sporting engagements.  Chuck is active in various volunteer arenas including blacksmith at the Museum of the Rockies Living History Farm, elder and choir member in the First Presbyterian Church of Bozeman, Love in the Name of Christ, Family Promise, Gallatin County Mediation Center, mentoring and tutoring numerous middle school students. And has attended every performance since the early 1990.

Jim Banks joins the VTC Board as an At Large Community Representative.  Jim has been a Bozeman resident since 1972.  Jim and Anne Banks have been fans of the Vigilante Theatre Company since, “The Mall and the Night Visitors.”  Jim is a retired Air Force officer, Charter Member of Big Sky Wind Drinkers, life member of Gallatin Valley Bicycle Club, and Red Cross volunteer and blood donor.  Jim is a tax professional at Gallatin Valley Tax Services.

She met her husband in the United States Navy and afterwards moved with him to his home in Livingston, Montana. From there they moved to Hulett, Wyoming for several years and are now fortunate to be moving back to the Livingston area. Cristy has always been interested in theatre and values the presence of theatre in small communities as well as in rural schools. Cristy is newly employed at First Montana Bank in Bozeman as Branch Retail Manager. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors biking, hiking, & walking with her husband and their 13 year old son, learning to play guitar and reading.
